MN Sinfonia Redesign

I worked with my friend Bryan Ische, who designed the site, to give the Minnesota Sinfonia’s website a new look and feel and some more consistent branding. The Minnesota Sinfonia is a professional, non-profit chamber orchestra offering free-admission concerts and educational programs in and around the Twin Cities.Their site was static html when we stepped in, and they needed the layout updated and organized, along with content management tools to allow them to easily make updates. We started from scratch by creating a custom WordPress theme, and they were very happy with the results!

Atomic Playpen Holiday Project

Before I started working there, Atomic Playpen, a Minneapolis based ad agency, asked me to get involved in the development of their 2010 holiday project. The ultimate goal was to show off some new, emerging web technology, in this case HTML5′s canvas element, to current and prospective clients, and I think we did a good job of it.The concept involved a site take over, where you are able to control a toy car and interact with images and text on their homepage. In reality, I placed a HTML canvas over the existing page and rendered all images as elements on the canvas, allowing complete control over their position.Everything turned out well, aside from some IE compatibility issues that couldn’t be avoided, and the experience acted as a way for me to get to know the team before I ultimately started working there a few months later.
